About my business

I have established HJT Translations as an unincorporated business operating in Dallas County in Texas to provide translation and proofreading services between the German and American English languages. I am a member of the American Translators Association (ATA).

I can work from Microsoft Office, Libre Office and PDF files.  I have SDL Trados Studio as a translation tool.  If other tools are needed, I will consider making them available.

I am a German native living in the United State since the late 1980s.

I have earned a Ph.D. degree in Natural Sciences from University of Hamburg, Germany, working in experimental nuclear physics.  After graduation, I was involved in experiments for high energy particle physics at various German and American national laboratories and universities.  I then worked for many years at a small company in Texas on developments for and applications of ink-jet technology in a broad range of fields.  Besides a lot of technical work, this also included writing and proofreading documentation as well as communication with customers worldwide.
