I am offering translation and proofreading services for documents of a technical nature between the German and American English languages. I am a native German living in the United States since the late 1980’s. Regular personal and professional contacts allow me to keep my language skills in shape.

I have experience in experimental physics, precision engineering and computing. My routine work with documents includes requirements, specifications, proposals, patents, manuals, technical analysis, reporting and individualized instructions for maintenance and repairs.

I also have learned and practiced writing and reading the old German handwriting styles, known as “Kurrentschrift” and “Sütterlinschrift”, and I am well versed in reading texts printed in “Fraktur”.  Thus I can offer transcribing and translating letters and documents prepared in those styles from the 16th through the 20th centuries.
