Der Mensch.
Ob es vieleicht, durch Stoltz verführt, den meisten Menschen nicht so scheinet;
so ist der Mensch doch in der That nichts anders, als ein Thier, das meynet.
Es meynt der Mensch in allen Dingen, in allem was er denckt und spricht,
die Meynung geht bey ihm so weit, daß er offt meynt, er meyne nicht.

English translation

The Human.
It may perhaps, by pride deceived, to most of humans not appear;
the human still is truth be told none but an animal opining.
The human opines on any matter, in everything he thinks and speaks,
opining goes with him so far he oft opines he opineth not.
